Keep It Clean

Dentures should be cleaned after every meal if possible. If your dentures are removable, take them off and brush with a non-abrasive cleanser and a soft toothbrush. Take care to remove any food particles, build-up, or denture adhesive. While you’re at it, spend some time brushing your teeth, gums, and oral tissue to keep your mouth in great shape. Over time, adhesives, plaque, and food particles can build up, so daily cleansing is key.

Go for a Soak

Removable dentures should be soaked overnight to help them maintain their shape. Always use a doctor-approved soaking agent for your denture care, as the wrong mix of chemicals can actually weaken or damage your dentures. Do not use any products containing bleach, and make sure to thoroughly rinse your dentures before putting them back in your mouth. Un-rinsed dentures can hurt your gums so don’t skip this step.

Handle with Care

Your custom dentures are a work of art and need to be treated carefully! With delicate denture care, you’ll minimize chips, breakage, and warping. Take a moment each night to inspect your dentures, and notify your doctor at any signs of cracks or discomfort. Tackling problems early on can prevent costly repairs.

What to Avoid

Never use bleach, teeth whiteners, or boiling water in your denture care routine as they could cause damage, corrosion, or warping.
